MacAulay-Brown Awarded $5.4 Million United States Air Force Contract to Support Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasure Program

DAYTON, Ohio, April 4, 2012 – MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), a leading engineering and technical services company supporting the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community with over 2,000 employees worldwide, announced today that it has been awarded a five-year, $5.4 million contract by the United States Air Force (USAF) to provide research and support for the Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasure (LAIRCM) program. The follow-on contract allows MacB to continue the Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) work it has been providing under the previous LAIRCM contract.

Under the terms of the contract, MacB will continue the RDT&E activities. In addition, MacB will analyze performance results to ensure the Infrared Countermeasures (IRCM) systems meet the USAF’s stringent performance requirements for use on the C-5 Galaxy, C-17 Globemaster and C-130 Hercules aircraft. As a collaborative member of the USAF LAIRCM team, MacB has been instrumental in ensuring the performance of the integrated system through analysis of data from realistic laboratory, simulation and open-air test range environments. The Company has also supported a wide range of engineering and testing products relating to the LAIRCM program, including participation on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), analyzing system problems and risk areas and verifying test results.

“For more than three decades, MacB has been at the forefront of developing technology and providing engineering services that are critical to supporting the military’s mission to defend the nation,” said Sid Fuchs, President and CEO of MacB. “The LAIRCM program is especially important as these aircraft play a significant role in the transport, supply and defense of the warfighter. We are very proud to once again partner with the Air Force to help protect the men and women in uniform.”
