MacB Employees, Families and Guests Participating in 2015 Air Force Marathon Events
Good luck to the 43 sponsored MacAulay-Brown, Inc. employees, plus their family members and guests who are participating in this weekend’s activities for the 19th Annual Air Force Marathon in Dayton, Ohio. More than 85 people are set to receive an official MacB T-shirt to wear during sponsored events, whether they are running, walking, volunteering or cheering. The race is scheduled each year for the third Saturday in September, and all levels of runners and walkers from around the world participate.
This is the 19th year of the Air Force Marathon, which will kick off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 18 with the Air Force 5K Race, sponsored by Wright State University. The Air Force full Marathon and 10K race are scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, with the Wheeled Marathon and Half Marathon also set for Saturday, with start times at 7:25 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., respectively.
The full marathon is a 26.2-mile run that navigates historical places on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, including the National Museum of the United States Air Force, the Air Force Institute of Technology, Headquarters Air Force Material Command, the Wright-Patterson AFB flight line, Huffman Prairie Flying Field and the Wright Brothers Memorial Monument.
“I’m proud to say that MacB has sponsored employees and their families in the Air Force Marathon since the inception of this grand event,” says Katherine Gaskill, Senior Director of Corporate Human Resources. “It’s become an employee tradition, and interest has remained high over the years. I’m personally looking forward to running the Air Force 5K, the only event of the series in which I do not have a participation medal – followed by running the 10K Saturday morning.”
Dayton weather for Saturday is currently showing cloudy skies for the morning races, with a 50 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. To learn more about the 2015 Air Force Marathon, visit www.usafmarathon.com
