MacB Represented at Order of Saint Barbara Induction and Ball
On Saturday, February 6, 2016, the Field Artillery Association (FAA) at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) in Maryland hosted its annual Order of Saint Barbara Chapter Induction and Ball from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Top of the Bay club to welcome a new group of award recipients. MacB sponsors the event each year by purchasing a full-page ad and a full table at the Ball. MacB company owners and members of the Senior Leadership Team attended the 2016 celebration.
The Order of Saint Barbara is a military honor society for both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps Artillery, including field and air defense. It’s named for Saint Barbara, the patron saint of artillerymen, and is recognized by a formal Dining-In or Military Ball that traditionally honors individuals who have demonstrated the highest standards of integrity and moral character, served in the Army or Marine Corps Field Artillery with selflessness, displayed an outstanding degree of professional competence, and contributed to the promotion of the Field Artillery in ways that stand out in the eyes of seniors, subordinates and peers.
“The Order of St. Barbara is a time-honored and very traditional event that showcases our commitment to supporting the Artillery and APG communities in Maryland,” said Fred Norman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of MacB’s Mission Systems Group (MSG). “I have attended the induction ceremony and St. Barbara’s Ball for a number of years, and am always glad to see a record turnout that includes former inductees, current and retired military personnel, family members, coworkers and friends who whole-heartedly back our deserving military personnel for their dedication, high moral code and professional integrity under the most difficult conditions.”
