Who We Are
Sidney E. Fuchs
President and Chief Executive Officer
Sid Fuchs is the President and Chief Executive Officer, and a Director of MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), a leading National Security company with more than 1,500 employees worldwide that provides innovative engineering, cybersecurity, and product solutions to Defense, Intelligence, Homeland Security and Federal agencies. He is an accomplished and acknowledged leader and executive, and National Security authority, with a 30-year track record of leading and building companies and organizations ranging in size from $100M to more than $1.5B in annual revenue that deliver results. He joined MacB in 2011.
His career includes positions of responsibility as a CIA Intelligence Officer, political appointee, and CEO and board member in leading Fortune 100®, publically traded, private equity sponsored, and privately-owned corporations in a variety of business models including R&D, engineering/IT services, technology and product development, consulting and advisory, manufacturing, and hardware/software systems development and integration. His subject matter expertise resides in the areas of Intelligence Operations and Analysis, Cybersecurity, Software Systems, Information Technology, Aerospace Systems, and ISR, Satellite and Communications Systems.
Under very challenging market conditions, Mr. Fuchs has led the transformation of MacB from a once predominantly U.S. Air Force SETA contractor to a high-end engineering services, cybersecurity, and product solutions company. While leveraging three strategic acquisitions and focused organic growth to replace 80 percent of MacB’s revenue that converted to small business over the past five years, he expanded MacB’s capability portfolio to include cybersecurity, secure cloud engineering and data analytics, specialized manufacturing and product development, systems integration, agile software engineering and tools development, RDT&E, and intelligence/SOF mission planning, analysis and operations. During that same period, new customers including the Intelligence Community, USSOCOM, USAF Research Labs, DISA, Army Cyber, DHS, FBI, and COCOMs were added to MacB’s customer set. In 2015 and 2016, the company delivered combined bookings of almost $800M in total contract value, an all-time record for the company.
MacB has been consistently included in the Washington Technology Top 100 and ranked as a Top Work Place by several local and national organizations. Enlighten IT Consulting, a MacB Company, was named GovCon Company of the Year by the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce in 2016. In 2013, MacB was a finalist for GovCon Company of the Year and Smart CEO Company of the Year. In 2013, Mr. Fuchs was a finalist for GovCon CEO of the Year and in 2016 and 2017, was named one of the Top 25 Executives in Government Contracting by WashingtonExec. In 2015 and 2016, he was named by the Dayton Business Journal as one of the 100 most influential business and military leaders in the aerospace and defense industry. In 2014 and 2016, Mr. Fuchs, an accomplished musician and guitarist, led the MacB band, “The Operators”, to win Spookstock, a defense and intelligence industry battle of the bands charity event that has raised more than $2M for the Wounded Warrior and CIA Officers Memorial Foundations.
In 2013, he was appointed by Louisiana State University (LSU) to the position of Executive in Residence for the LSU College of Engineering. In this official capacity, he provides thought leadership, seminar lectures, career development guidance, strategic planning and business operations assistance, and advisory services to the administration, students, and faculty.
